The World’s First 360° Sim Racing Video

Why 360 Cameras Changed the Way I Film Sim Racing, Rally, and Trucking
My 360 videos:
• Trucking (ETS2) – https://youtu.be/Uye9fmYs5Bo
• Rally (Assetto Corsa) – https://youtu.be/Av33c_XEzGw
• Racing (ACC) – https://youtu.be/JQJuc5dQ4Bk
Over the past year, I’ve been experimenting like crazy with different camera setups to capture my sim experiences — trucking, rally, and racing. What surprised me most is how 360 cameras completely changed the way I film POV content, especially inside a motion simulator.
I’ve tested all kinds of gear, but the two cameras that stand out for me are the DJI Osmo Action 5 and the DJI Osmo 360. They each bring something special to the table depending on what I’m trying to film.
Why 360 Works So Well Across Every Sim Genre
Most people know my channel for trucking, but I’ve been pushing into rally and racing, and 360 video works insanely well for all three.
1. Trucking — European Truck Simulator in Full Immersion
In ETS2, the 360 camera shows everything:
• My face
• My entire rig
• The motion platform shaking
• The wheel reacting
• The road outside
That crazy stretched “VR-like” perspective grabs attention immediately. You can see that in my trucking 360 video above — it’s one of the most immersive ways to show how real the experience can feel.
2. Rally — Capturing the Chaos
In my rally 360 video, the benefit is totally different: you can feel the violence of the car bouncing around. Rally stages are fast, messy, unpredictable — a regular POV camera crops out too much of the cockpit. With 360, viewers can look around naturally and feel the intensity.
3. Racing — ACC With Full Motion
For pure track racing, 360 footage shows mid-corner rotation, wheel force reactions, and how the rig handles weight transfer. The racing 360 video gives people a full sense of speed and environment rather than just a narrow forward view.
DJI Osmo 360 vs DJI Action 5 – Which One I Use and When
DJI Osmo 360
Best for:
✔ Insane POV angles
✔ Showing the whole cockpit
✔ Motion rigs
✔ Tight spaces
The lens and stitching are extremely clean, and the stabilization is perfect for sim content.
DJI Action 5
Best for:
✔ Forward-facing POV
✔ Clean, sharp 4K image
✔ Quick shots
✔ Sim racing wheel footage
✔ Secondary angles
I often use the Action 5 alongside the 360 as a traditional forward shot, especially in trucking.
Why I Keep Coming Back to 360 Filming
360 video brings something that normal cameras simply can’t: you see everything at once. When people click your thumbnail and see your face, your wheel, the screens, the motion platform, and the truck or rally stage all in one shot — it grabs them instantly.
And across trucking, rally, and racing, that wider perspective tells the story way better.
Final Thoughts
My goal with all this experimenting is simple:
I want people to feel what I feel inside the simulator.
Whether it’s a rally stage in Assetto Corsa, a 24-hour race in ACC, or a long haul in ETS2, 360 cameras let me show my setup, my reactions, and the environment in one crazy shot.
If you haven’t seen the videos yet, check out all three types above. They each show a different side of what makes sim content so fun to create.
